Is the constant concern of the state of your battery on your mind…? Once my car graduated from daily driver status I found this to be a big concern. Especially when I found myself deep within the Auto-cross community, being extremely competitive I swapped out my standard sized battery for a small powersport battery. Which was great for on the course but when I would find a chance to drive the car it was a crapshoot on whether the battery started, slow cranked and died.. or just clicked.

This is what we are trying to avoid.. Nobody wants to be pumped up for a drive and then find your battery dead, But it does happen…

Over the past year I have decided to make my Sti a bit more friendly to my driving habits. This brought to finding a full sized lightweight battery option from Antigravity along with their Bluetooth battery tracker plus. Antigravity’s battery tracker plus gives you a window into your batteries current state of charge via your phone. Instead of wondering if you should check on your battery status you can take a quick peek on your phone and put your mind at ease,

This simple addition to your battery shouldn’t take you much longer than 15 mins. If you have an Antigravity battery you already have the supplied hardware within your kit, as well as mounting holes within the terminals.

Installation

Antigravity has made this a fairly straightforward install by including everything we need in the kit. Once you have opened the package you will find a small strip of velcro and the battery tracker device. If you own an Antigravity battery this is made even easier as the battery terminals are threaded for supplied hardware to install.

Best part about having an Antigravity battery is the terminals are threaded to make this install so easy.

First up we will identify a location to apply our velcro. I recommend you place the Battery tracker plus in a couple areas to test the routing of the wires and visual appeal. With my aluminum battery tie down have a sufficient amount of flat space on it I started there. If this isn’t an option for you you could easily add it to an under hood panel or fusebox cover.

Antigravity battery is all set up. The first step is applying the velcro. This STM battery tie down made a great surface and location.

With the velcro applied to the tiedown it’s time to apply the Antigravity tracker to the other piece of the velcro.

Hold the battery tracker for a few moments to adhere it properly.

With the Battery tracker Plus velcro applied it is time to route your wiring. Due to my location I decided looping it around a wire loom to the positive terminal kept the area clean. Then I slid it under the oem battery cover to keep it tidy. If you don’t have an Antigavity battery with threaded terminals, you can loosen the battery cable bolt and use a washer to hold it tight.

To make it look a little more tidy I wound it around this battery terminal cable.

Given the location of my Antigravity battery tracker I was able to do a small loop to the front of the battery and then route it directly back to the negative terminal. Once again if you aren’t using an antigravity battery you can use the cinch bolt on the negative cable to install the cable.

Another 14mm bolt is ready to be tied down.

Everything is all down under the hood. Next up is tying it to your phone.

This completes the install procedure and now you just need to install the app which is readily available on both the Google play store and the iStore.
