When you re out on the trails or just the road it is always good to be prepared. Especially with a Subaru given the the intricate awd system, that overall diameter and tread between tires is so important. A 5th full size tire and/or inflation system is a must in my mind.

With that in mind we take a look at Audew's portable tire inflator to help to keep those pressures in check, you can even set it and forget it. Setting the unit to your desired psi will set it to automatic till the tire reaches that psi. It's small compact size and travel bag make it easily stow-able in the Forester's rear hatch or any Subaru in fact.

My Ryobi inflator has been my go to for Auto-x and long trips, so I decided to have a little test of the two. By deflating a tire to 19 psi, what you might use for an offroad park and reinflating it to 32psi. The outcome showed the Audew able to inflate it at 3 mins 15 secs and the Ryobi at just under 4 minutes. As with the ability to set your inflation level, it will give you a reading on what the pressure is before you add air.

The only downfall I saw when using the Audew was the shorter cable makes you need to swap it from one side to the other when inflating all 4 tires. If you have a power outlet extender or battery adapter can take care of this.

I really enjoy the way the air hose is held around the exterior to help keep the package very compact leaving plenty of space for everything else in your vehicle. There is a light on the top if you forget your flashlight or end up using it at night.

I haven't tested it long but overall I enjoy the abilities of it for it's small stature. I will be looking forward to it and giving you an updates after its long term use. It comes with a warranty card for over 12 months, hopefully it isn’t needed.
